Denver, Colo.—Fifty Santas with big hearts and long white beards are arriving in Denver by bus, airplane and cars this Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Their destination will be the Noerr Pole, headquarters for The Noerr Programs and training center for Santa University. The special training they receive will help them answer dozens of requests and questions from children all over the country this Christmas season. Santas will receive pointers on everything from encouraging shy children to give him their Christmas lists to answering tough questions like, “How can you fly around the world in just one night?”
The Noerr Programs Corporation, a digital event imaging company trains Santas every year at Santa University. Noerr’s 250 Santas will appear in 165 shopping malls in 37 states beginning in early November, providing special memorable experiences to guests.
Santas learn how to Create Holiday Magic!™ as well as smile for the camera, brush up on the latest toys, and quiet crying babies. The three-day course, offered to the newest of Santa’s helpers as well as jolly old elves who have been welcoming children onto their laps for a dozen years, reminds Santas to wear white gloves, know when to ho ho ho and “never promise a child anything you can’t deliver.”
Judy Noerr, who founded the company nearly 25 years ago with her husband and business partner Philip Byrne, are tireless in their mission to provide magical moments for children and families coming to visit Santa and have their photos taken with him.
“Our Santas have to look like Santa with natural, white and fluffy beards and mustaches,” said Judy. “The most important part, though, is the size of their hearts and how much they care about children of all ages.”
This year, Santas who come for training will make special visits to eight Arvada fire stations, three childrens’ day cares and learning centers and an assisted living residence, including KinderCare Learning Centers, The Academy Child Development Center and Sterling House of Arvada.
“It’s important to give back to our communities,” said Judy Noerr, “and we train all of our Santas to donate their time to worthy causes in each community in which they serve during the Christmas season.”
Noerr Santas travel to homes of children too ill to come to the mall, visit hospitals and appear at special fundraising events.
This year Noerr Programs is honoring staff and volunteer firefighters in the Arvada Fire Protection District with a visit to each station, a plaque of recognition and a donation to the Children’s Hospital Foundation for use in the hospital’s burn unit.
In addition to discovering, training and placing Santas, The Noerr Programs hires more than 165 set managers and 2,000 seasonal cast members during the holiday season.
